These terms are a starting point written for a small independent product. Have a lawyer review them before relying on them, particularly the liability and refund sections.
Overview is desktop software that runs on your computer and acts on your instructions: managing files, controlling applications, running commands, and generating text and code using third-party AI models.
An account is needed for account-based features such as Pro and the free trial. The Free assistant uses your own provider API key or supported CLI. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done through your account. Contact [email protected] if you believe someone else has access.
Pro is billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Your billing currency and price are shown before you pay.
Free includes the desktop assistant. Pro unlocks Connections and AI Agents; the seven-day Pro trial includes one agent and requires sign-in. Neither current plan includes normal AI provider usage. You supply your own provider key or supported CLI account, subject to that provider's charges and limits. Cloud agent hosting, if used, is supplied by you.
You may cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Partial months are not pro-rated.
If the software does not work for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it. Beyond that, refunds are at our discretion, but ask, and we will be reasonable.
Do not use Overview to break the law, harm others, access systems you do not have permission to access, or circumvent the usage limits of your plan. Do not resell access to your account.
Overview can create, modify, move, and delete files, run shell commands, and control applications on your machine. It asks before deleting anything and operates only inside folders you allow. Even so, AI models make mistakes. Keep backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Normal requests use your selected provider (Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude or xAI Grok) or supported CLI (Codex CLI or Claude Code). Assisted onboarding uses Overview's bounded setup service as described in the privacy policy. The relevant provider's terms and privacy policies apply to processing. We do not control their models, their availability, or what they produce.
We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uptime. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. If we discontinue a paid feature entirely, we will refund the unused portion of your subscription.
The software is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You may stop using Overview and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, and will explain why where we reasonably can.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you by email before it takes effect.
